Want to join Portsmouth Badminton Club?
We are a friendly badminton club which welcomes players looking for an enjoyable and competitive club experience in Portsmouth. The club plays on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at The Portsmouth Grammar School (PGS) Sports hall. Please see latest news below for upcoming dates and venue details. We have teams in the Portsmouth and Southampton Leagues and are always looking for new league standard members. So, if you are a player of a good standard searching for a club, then please get in touch to arrange a date to attend. Please note we are a league-level club and cannot take on beginners or improvers.
We are a Badminton Club, NOT a Sports Centre. We DO NOT take bookings for court hire.
For court hire search online for any of the following Sports Centres:
Bransbury Park [Southsea], Mayfield School [Portsmouth Central], The Mountbatten Centre [Portsmouth North],
Highbury Sports Centre [Cosham], Havant Leisure Centre [Havant].
When does the club play?
Winter Club:
Our main club night is on Tuesdays with an additional club night on Thursdays, which runs alongside our home league matches.
Tuesdays and Thursdays 7.15pm – 9.30pm
12th September – 14th December 2023
4th January – 28th March 2024
Guest fees are £7 per session. Members can pay an upfront fee to cover their Tuesday sessions only. Thursday sessions are £7 for members and guests.
Summer Club:
Our Summer club runs on Tuesdays only, 7.15pm – 9.30pm
23rd April – 23rd July 2024 (14 weeks)
13th August – 27th August 2024 (3 weeks)
Guest fees are £7 per session. Members can pay a discounted upfront fee on 23rd April to cover all 17 sessions.
Please bring cash on the night, or pay via online bank transfer. Clearly state your name/initials and session date as the reference.
